Hero of the Day is a 3-day grassroots cycling event that is organized by volunteers from the local AIDS-related cycling community to benefit HIV and AIDS related services in the DC metro and North Carolina rural areas.
The ride started in 2004, when metro-DC cyclists discovered there was no longer going to be a long distance ride from North Carolina to DC. They decided to ban together and create their own cycling event. Thus Hero of the Day was born.
Especially important to note: 100% of all participant fundraised dollars will go directly to the beneficiaries.
